Hogan Thompson Schuelke Partners Co-Chair, Present at FNREL Annual Natural Resources and Energy Law Institute

Hogan Thompson Schuelke partners recently traveled to Whistler, British Columbia for the Foundation for Natural Resources (FNREL) 71st Annual Natural Resources and Energy Law Institute. Partner Christopher Hogan co-chaired the Oil & Gas and Landman's Section, and partner Samantha Thompson presented “Can I Get My Money Back? Hurdles and Solutions to Recouping Overpaid Revenue.”

Along with Joseph Adams, managing counsel, L48 Transactions at ConocoPhillips, Samantha shared key considerations for overpayments to owners of oil and gas interests, including obligations under various states’ proceeds payment acts, the role of division orders, indemnification provisions, and how to address common issues raised by owners.

This year's Institute featured nearly 40 presentations across 10 sessions, including two sessions on oil and gas and landman’s legal issues.
